Youth Haven

Lucy Gowers has many years of experience in the tourism, library and local non-profit industry. But for the past 20 years, she has been involved with non-profits. Her intro to the world of non-profits goes back to when she was a young girl living in Niagara Falls where she volunteered at a nursery school for atypical children. She was later reintroduced to the world of non-profits when she was asked to fill a need for a Board President for the local Timmins Arthritis Society. It was then that Lucy rediscovered her passion.

Since then, she has been Area Manager for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Director of Operations for Habitat for Humanity, Community Development Coordinator for Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario, and Executive Director for the Housing Resource Centre. She is currently the Executive Director for Youth Haven, a position she has held for over a year a year and a half.

She loves the Toronto Maple Leafs, Darryl Sittler, jewellery, and her family ...and not necessarily in that order!
