President's Message
Dear Friends and Fellow Rotarians,It is an incredible honour to serve as the President of the Kempenfelt Rotary Club this year. I feel deeply fortunate to live and work in the vibrant community of Barrie, and I carry a great sense of pride when I reflect on the positive impact our club continues to achieve.
This year’s Rotary theme, “Unite for Good,” resonates deeply with me. In a world where connection and understanding are more important than ever, this message reminds us of the power we hold when we come together—celebrating our differences and uniting in purpose to serve our community and beyond.
I was born in Iran and moved to Barrie in 1979, when our city was home to just 28,000 people. Today, I’m proud to call Barrie home with my wonderful wife, our three incredible kids, and two amazing dogs. Together, my wife and I run a local business, and I’m lucky to be surrounded every day by extremely talented individuals who make work both meaningful and inspiring.
Throughout the years, I’ve had the privilege of serving on various boards and committees and learned a tremendous amount. I’ve always been passionate about building connections—between people, organizations, and ideas. Rotary, and particularly Kempenfelt Rotary, has been a place where those connections flourish. It is truly a unique community, filled with some of the most genuine, generous, and inspiring people I’ve ever met.
Whether you’re new to Rotary or have been with us for years, I invite you to lean in this year—to engage, to connect, and to see for yourself how Rotary can not only change lives but unite us all for a greater good.
I look forward to seeing you at a meeting.
Ali Khonsari
