Barrie Historical Archive Assoc - Billy Courtice

Billy Courtice is the proud chair of the Barrie Historical Archive. After settling down in a 70-year-old home in Barrie's historic Grove neighborhood, Billy began to see his city in a different light. In seeking an exciting volunteer opportunity and a chance to learn more about Barrie's heritage, Billy found an ideal role at the Barrie Historical Archive. Only months later, he would go on to serve as the archive's chair, leading a passionate group of volunteers in its journey to tell our history and your story through Barrie's only free, searchable online archive.

When not in town, Billy works as a strategic communications specialist at York Regional Police, enjoying the opportunity to enhance the public profile of a progressive police service in the diverse and evolving region it serves. He also provides communications and design services for several organizations on a freelance basis. He is an avid golfer, reader and ice cream eater.
