Club Committees
A Rotary club can provide service to its community, retain members, and develop leaders for the club, district, and Rotary International only when its operations are efficient. Club committees are charged with carrying out the club's long-range and annual goals. Each Rotary club has different needs and will establish committees to suit those needs.
At the Kempenfelt Rotary Club we have the following committees:
1. Membership Development & Public Relations
Responsibility:
◦ the development of existing members and the procurement of new members
◦ the promotion of all activities of the club including community work and fundraisers
2. Community & International Service Committee
Responsibility:
◦ the disbursement of publicly raised funds both locally and internationally
3. Club Services Committee
Responsibility:
◦ the day-to-day operation of the club
◦ the social events throughout the year
4. Ways & Means Committee
Responsibility:
◦ fund raising in support of our community and international projects
5. New Generations
Responsibility:
◦ International Youth Exchange program: for eligible high school students
◦ Interact Club of Barrie: Interact is Rotary International’s service club for young people ages 12 to 18
◦ Rotaract Club of Barrie: Rotaract is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young men and women ages 18 to 30
◦ Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA): RYLA is Rotary's leadership training program for young people. RYLA participants can be ages 14-30
◦ Rotary Adventure programs: Including Adventures in Citizenship and Adventures in History for eligible high school students
Each committee meets on a monthly basis for the purpose of fulfilling their responsibilities. Each committee has a chair who then reports back to the board. Committee meetings may be held at the home of one of the members, their place of business, or a local restaurant.
