As an active Rotarian for over 28 years, Doug initially joined the Rotary Club of Etobicoke in 1989 while living and working in Southern Ontario.  In 1995 Doug moved to Barrie to become the Owner Operator of the Active Green & Ross + Franchise and was fortunate to become a member of the Barrie Huronia Rotary Club.  

Doug has recently sold his Active Green & Ross Franchise on Anne Street to his daughter Alison and her partner Lance Jordan, and has taken on the Role of Chief Operating Officer at Barriston Law with offices in Barrie, Bracebridge, Collingwood and Huntsville.

Doug is Past President, a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, a Benefactor and is actively involved in many of his club's events.  Doug has served as Co-Chair on Past RI Director Bryn Styles District Conference in 2004 and completed a three year term as the District Conference Chair in 2015.

In 2011, Doug was selected as the District 7010 GSE Team Leader to Central America during which he led a team of 4 young professionals on an exciting vocational exchange.

Doug was also instrumental in helping to organize and charter the Rotaract Club of Barrie in 2012.

Doug is married to Joan and they have two children - Jeffrey and Alison
