Colin Hopper-Barrie Police,Junior Constable Camp

Constable Colin Hopper has been with the Barrie Policy for over 12 years and was with Windsor Police for 4 years prior to that.  He has worked most of this time in General Patrol, with time in both police services working in the downtown core in a community service/bike patrol capacity.  Colin is the police mountain bike instructor for the Barrie Police.  He has been in the Barrie Police Service Community Service Unit for over 4 years as a School Resource Officer.  He has been involved in the Barrie Police Jr.Constable Mentorship Camp since its inception in 2014, and has been heavily involved in the planning and running the camp for the past 3 years.  He believes the camp is an excellent way to engage in a positive way with the young people of Barrie who may otherwise never have a good interaction with the police, as well as an opportunity to give kids an opportunity to experience some fun summer activities they may otherwise never get to do.

Sgt Toni Dufour has been a Police Officer with Barrie Police Service for 18 years.  She has worked in many different areas fo the police force including General Patrol, Investigations, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse, Youth and Schools Officer, Media and Use of Force Training.  She was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in the fall of 2016 and currently supervises the School Resource Office and the Crime Prevention Unit.  She oversaw the Barrie Police Junior Constable Camp during the summer of 2017 and although never doubted the importance of the program, she was able to experience first-hand the opportunities that the camp offers to many young people.
